Modernizing Medicine's Volunteer Day Off: Creating A Culture of Caring

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
– Winston Churchill

We were so excited to hear our COO /CFO, Karen O’Byrne, announce the new Volunteer Day Off benefit during our All Hands Meeting this past February. It is a great honor for me to work with our team to continue upon and build our community outreach efforts.

Modernizing Medicine’s commitment to community outreach is nothing new. As an organization we have formally and informally participated in numerous outreach events; many of them employee initiated. Our commitment to community is a reflection of our belief that positive transformation occurs when we put our passion and talent to work, one person at a time.

We are in the early stages of developing a formal program to encourage, recognize and support the valuable contributions our associates can make to their communities and to help inspire others to volunteerism. With over 170 employees, the Volunteer Day Off benefit equates to over 1,300 hours of community service per year, and growing. This is a great first step with a lot of impact!

Be on the lookout for upcoming employee posts on their volunteering experience and the difference it makes to them and their communities.
