Board chairman for Quantum Foundation serious about service

He calls himself “unemployed,” because Denis P. Coleman Jr. doesn’t like the term “retirement.” It suggests idleness, and the Palm Beach man is anything but. He invests his time using his skills to help others and, to that end, recently became board chairman for the Quantum Foundation, a private grant-making organization that funds charities and some government agencies serving Palm Beach County. Quantum Foundation is teaming up with Modernizing Medicine and Florida Atlantic University’s Tech Runway to stimulate health-related innovation in Palm Beach County at a tech weekend on March 28-29. During the event, Quantum Foundation will host its first hackathon, giving engineers, designers and entrepreneurs a hands-on environment to connect, build teams and create a piece of software that enhances the quality of life in underserved communities.
