Got iOS 10? It May Be Time for an Update.
By now if you have an Apple device chances are you upgraded to iOS 10 when Apple released it in September 2016.
What You Need to Know Now
While we all experience the new features included with each bright and shiny software edition, sometimes unintended consequences pop up. What’s the scoop with Apple’s latest upgrade? In order to run iOS 10, customers may need to update their devices. Why? iOS 10 will not work on iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPad mini 1, and it may not work on others. What’s the takeaway? Please plan to upgrade to iOS 10. It will be required to run Modernizing Medicine’s 5.3 release scheduled for January 2017. And you won’t want to miss what’s in this release, including advanced MIPS support and Practice Management enhancements around claims management.
The Need for Speed
Another nice benefit of new hardware is the speed and improved performance. Those of you who attended the mobile tips and tricks session at the 2014 users conference saw the speed between the iPad 2 versus iPad Air 2 – our mobile engineers demonstrated that the iPad Air 2 works up to 12 times faster than the iPad 2. Not to mention that the graphics performance difference is up to 180 times faster. There is no comparison, and now is the perfect time to begin to experience the time savings of 15 to 20 seconds per patient when you update your device. Depending on how many patients you see per day, that may add up to saving 1.5 hours per week with the newer systems. In other words, you may make up the cost of the new iPad within a week or two. You don’t know what you’re missing!
