The Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches announced Susan Shulman Pertnoy as its new board chair in Palm Beach Gardens. Outgoing interim co-chairs Harold Danenbergand Robert Schneider will continue to serve as senior vice chairs and secretary and treasurer, respectively. David Friedlander, Doreen Lieberman and Shayne Silverwere installed as first-time members of the board. During the annual meeting, the following awards were presented: Leslie Santelli was honored with the Steven Shapiro New Leadership Award, presented each year to a leader in the community who has made a significant contribution to the JCC. The Charles M. Jacobson Leadership Award was presented to Paul Gross, in recognition of the role he played in establishing the Mandel JCC building in Palm Beach Gardens and spearheading renovations at the agency’s building in Boynton Beach. The Sabina Gottschalk Volunteer Award was presented toGayle Gross for her volunteer efforts for the Lyons Art Gallery in Palm Beach Gardens. Saint Mark’s Episcopal School in Fort Lauderdale announced the hiring of a new director of admissions, Tessy Wassmann. She was previously in this role at Gulliver Academy in Miami for five years.Before that, she was director of college counseling at Gulliver Preparatory School’s Pinecrest campus.
New members were elected to the board of the Palm Beach Day Academy board of rustees.They are Juliana Gendelman, Andrea Kosoy, Tim Mullen, Caroline Rafferty, Charles Schumacher and Maura Ziska Christu. Lourdes Fanjul is incoming president, and the officers will include Frances Fisher, vice president; Will Matthews, vice-president; Grant Mashek, treasurer; and Stephanie Carden, secretary. Gendelman works for a Los Angeles-based app development company. Kosoy is a volunteer at PBDA, including as vice president of the Parent School Council. Mullen is a private investor at BurlingRidge LLC. Rafferty is an interiors, furniture and textiles designer. Schumacher is president of The Schumacher Automotive Group. Palm Beach Day Academy is located on two campuses, one in Palm Beach and one in West Palm Beach.
Urban Design Kilday Studios, a planning and landscape architecture firm, has added four planning and design professionals to its West Palm Beach office: Jan Polson, Sofia Garantiva,Brittany Bourgault and Kevin Kroll. Bourgault joins the firm’s landscape architectural division as a landscape designer. She previously worked in Jacksonville as a landscape designer for Ervin, Lovett & Miller and as a business/research analyst and program consultant for Pontoon Solutions. Polson rejoined the firm as a project manager after nearly 10 years working as a senior land planner for another local planning firm, and most recently a permit procurement specialist for a signage company.Garantiva has become a full-time member of the planning staff after working as a summer intern at UDKS. Peter Olrich has been named director of college counseling and guidance for Gulliver Prep (grades 9-12). He will begin July 1, moving from Brooks School in North Andover, Mass., where he is the dean of college counseling.
Modernizing Medicine Inc., creator of a cloud-based electronic health record system, has named Rick Von Pusch as the company’s first chief revenue officer in Boca Raton. He will oversee the sales, marketing and business development teams. He was previously senior vice president of sales, marketing and operations for Dealertrack, a software provider for the automotive and lending industries. Before Dealertrack, he was vice president of U.S. retail sales for Reynolds and Reynolds, a software provider in the automotive industry.
Mark Vogtner has been named the chief information officer for Henderson Behavioral Health in Fort Lauderdale. Previously, Vogtner was vice president of IT at AspenPointe, a community behavioral health and social enterprise in Colorado Springs, Colo.
