A Successful Switch to All-In-One Podiatry Software

Jersey Foot & Ankle Institute Gains Efficiencies by Switching to the All-in-One Podiatry Software by ModMed®.

Here is a full transcription of the video:

My name is Ankur Dharia and I am a podiatrist in Hillsboro, New Jersey. I’ve been in practice for about 14 or 15 years now. I’ve been with my previous EHR/PM vendor for about four and a half years or so. One day I was just like, you know, I need to make the switch. I’m losing time. I’m losing time with my patients. I’m losing time with my family. I’m sitting at the office until 8:00 charting and I just decided to go for it.

The biggest thing was charting for me. I didn’t want it to take more than a few minutes to create a chart note. And during my demo with ModMed, it seemed pretty quick. I know I always take demos with a grain of salt, but it really stayed true to what I’m putting into practice now. It’s much quicker. I set up a few Protocols, which is kind of just clicking. The protocols are huge help in my practice, and even if I don’t have a protocol, if I just have to go through the whole note, it’s very simple. Clicking on the body parts and the plans are really smart as far as the options you need to take. Everything is there and if you need to make any changes, it’s easy to do so.

I like to think I can see more patients, but that wasn’t my goal in the first place, to see more patients. It was really to give me back some time to myself and my patients, so I could spend more time with them and my family. So that’s really helped in that sense. Also, everything is just simpler, verifying insurance, their eligibility is the click of a mouse, checking patients out, collecting payments, co-payments or whatnot. It’s really improved the efficiency.

And looking back, I shouldn’t have waited because it wasn’t a hard thing to do. They were very helpful in all aspects of the transition. I thought the training was phenomenal. I’ve been with about two or three other vendors in the past ten or 15 years. The training was probably the best part and best prepared me for using EMA and the PM software to the best of its abilities. And it’s not like once training is done, they just wash their hands of you. I shoot them questions here and there and they are very quick to respond. And support has been great.
