Unlock the power of AI built directly into our EMA® EHR — no additional software or integrations required. Developed by our on-staff podiatrists, ModMed Scribe was trained on real, de-identified clinical data sampled from over 750 million patient encounters, so it understands the language of podiatry.
Speak naturally, document effortlessly
Designed to understand how real clinical conversations flow — even with interruptions and deviations — and automatically suggest structured, comprehensive notes.
Address staffing shortages, accelerate onboarding
Helps reduce reliance on additional staff and speed up onboarding, enhancing practice efficiency and helping new hires master documentation quickly.
Do more with structured clinical notes
Seamless integration with EMA means once note content is approved, it can help automate prescriptions, lab orders and more, reducing clicks and after-hours charting.
Auto-route patient messages
to the right team for faster responses
Categorize incoming faxes
and link them to the right patient record
Flag claims before submission
with a higher likelihood of denial
Simplify patient education and thoroughly document visits with a hands-on solution that enables you to:
EMA, our EHR, is designed to support podiatry workflows. The Interactive Anatomical Atlas is a 3D model that lets you tap a specific joint or bone and add findings. These flow directly into your note and the bill. Combined with integrated imaging, you can annotate X-rays and clinical photos of wounds right in the chart as well. These features work together to help create a seamless visual history of each patient’s progress.
ModMed’s built-in podiatry workflows also recognize visits that qualify for at-risk care. The system prompts for the necessary systemic findings and suggests the correct “Q” modifiers and ICD-10 codes. This can help reduce the denial rates common in manual podiatry billing.
As you document, a built-in dashboard tracks podiatry-specific MIPS measures. It shows which patients met requirements and where there might be gaps in care. It tracks podiatry-relevant data, such as diabetic foot care and wound-healing progress, not generic primary care goals. You can submit data directly to CMS through ModMed’s own Qualified Registry to help reduce the risk of transfer errors.
The interface also supports ICD-10 specificity. It prompts you to document laterality, encounter type, and other details required under current ICD-10-CM standards. Built-in NCCI checks will flag coding conflicts in real-time before you submit. For example, if you attempt to bill a permanent nail matrixectomy and a temporary avulsion on the same toe, it will alert you to a coding conflict before you submit.
Because ModMed’s EHR and practice management systems are connected, a superbill is generated when you finalize your note. This is designed to help you capture charges accurately and support your claim submission process. For instance, if you document an injection, the system flags the billing team if the corresponding J-code or administration CPT is missing from the claim before it’s submitted.
ModMed’s Denial Assessment AI tool can also help. It’s designed to flag claims before submission that are identified as having a higher likelihood of denial based on historical data, helping take pressure off the billing team.
ModMed’s all-in-one platform reduces the friction of siloed systems. ModMed Practice Management connects directly to our EHR, while ModMed Patient Engagement, powered by Klara® keeps patient communication centralized. DME inventory management is also available within the unified platform, while ModMed RCM Services can add another layer of support by working with you to help keep your practice financially healthy. Together, ModMed helps your team run a more efficient, patient-centered practice.
ModMed Scribe listens quietly in the background, capturing the natural conversation between providers and podiatry patients. It understands your specialty’s language, drafts the note, and suggests downstream actions for approval. This helps clinicians stay focused on their patients, not their keyboards.

Each part of the office has different areas of the software they can use to make their lives easier. I think ModMed has made us more time efficient, more stable and more organized.
