Get to Know Market Leader EMA Dermatology's Additional Products and Services at AAD

The team at Modernizing Medicine is thrilled to head to the 2015 American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Annual Meeting in San Francisco with even more dermatology-specific products and services to showcase. We hope you’ll stop by booth 5216 to see why EMA Dermatology™ continues to lead the electronic health record (EHR) system market.

Since the last Academy meeting, the number of dermatologists who use our flagship product EMA Dermatology has grown to nearly 30 percent. That alone validates the strength of our Electronic Medical Assistant® (EMA™), but so do the top ratings we have received from independent ratings firms:

Specialty-Specific Billing and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)

Recognizing the need for dermatologists to have even more specialty-specific systems to help their practices succeed, we are thrilled to introduce our new comprehensive products and services at AAD. The addition of dermatology-specific billing, RCM and inventory management will only enhance EMA Dermatology, giving dermatologists a one-stop shop without one-size-fits-all solutions.

Like EMA Dermatology, our new systems and services have been developed to fit the needs and workflow of dermatologists. Our RCM services combine technology, people specialized in dermatology billing and proven processes to help improve your revenue cycle, lower claim denials, increase patient collections, achieve more profitability and grow your business.

Mobile – Just Like You

Our native iPad app has always given dermatologists added mobility – whether in the exam room or at the ball field. This past year we debuted PocketEMA™ – an app native to both iOS and Android smartphones. PocketEMA enables access to a patient’s chart and past notes, review of allergies and current medications, plus the ability to view additional documents like imaging reports – from almost anywhere.

Telemedicine

In other breaking news, Academy attendees will be among the first to see our app under development for telemedicine. Telemedicine is one of the trending solutions to help modernize medicine, so it’s no surprise that we want to offer it to our customers. While significant differences in telemedicine systems and networks exist, our telemedicine app is integrated with EMA Dermatology, minimizing the risk of losing patients to other providers.

ICD-10 Ready

EMA Dermatology was ready for ICD-10 at the 2014 Academy meeting, and is still ready now. If you haven’t yet, don’t delay seeing a demonstration of how EMA automatically handles ICD-10 without crosswalks or General Equivalence Mappings (GEMS). While ICD-10 was delayed last year, we don’t expect a continued delay in 2015. Why wait or gamble on your practice’s future? It’s safer to move now to a system that codes instantly and become fully trained and proficient before October 1st.

Quality of Care Reporting

PQRS reporting is a headache that we wanted to help dermatologists avoid, so we automated PQRS reporting through EMA Dermatology. EMA was designed with unique structured data technology that handles the Value-based Payment Modifier with ease. You can track patient outcomes and report quality of care, without slowing down productivity. This capability will be increasingly important as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) ramp up for even more quality-of-care reporting requirements.

Enhanced Support, Because EMA Cares

Modernizing Medicine’s enhanced client services program, EMA CARES, is a suite of services designed to provide clients with additional support for attestation, reporting and educational needs. It includes our EMA Meaningful Use Safeguard Services and access to ATI-Allied Health’s Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) program. Learn more about EMA CARES from our Client Services team at booth 5216.

Practice Enhanced Evidence-based Medicine with schEMA Powered by IBM Watson

Last year, IBM chose Modernizing Medicine as one of the first healthcare companies to leverage the cognitive computing power of IBM Watson to help medical professionals at the point of care. Through the development of our schEMA powered by IBM Watson app, available only in EMA, Modernizing Medicine gives physicians nearly instantaneous evidence-based clinical decision support. schEMA can search content in thousands of published medical journal articles from sources such as JAMA Dermatology and the British Journal of Dermatology. schEMA is different than a Google search where you’d still have to read all of the articles to maybe find just the knowledge you need and exponentially faster than sifting though mountains of medical journal articles to identify key information and make assumptions. Come by booth 5216 to see schEMA deliver near instantaneous evidence-based answers by using cognitive computing to understand medical content.

And Don’t Miss the Party!

If you haven’t experienced a Modernizing Medicine party, this is your year. In addition to the earned reputation of having the best dermatology EHR software, we also have one of the best after-hours parties at the Academy. Over 2,000 dermatologists are already on the guest list.

I look forward to seeing you at Academy!
