I’ve been in healthcare since 2007, starting in ENT before joining Midwest Medical Specialists over seven years ago. My biggest growth as a manager has been learning to lead by example and hold myself accountable so that I can empower my team.
Midwest Medical Specialists has a unique specialty mix, with providers in both ENT and dermatology. One of our founding providers is a rare dual-certified ENT and dermatology specialist. This unusual combination meant we previously had separate, non-specialty-specific EHR and practice management systems that created disconnected workflows. They can reach out to the staff about post-appointment issues like wound dressings or prescriptions, without needing to call. This integration has saved valuable time for both patients and staff and has decreased our no-show rate by 5%.
Training creates confidence
ModMed helped us streamline training and accommodate the team dynamics. We found support in the various modes of training and the interactive discussion forums, such as Communities. During implementation, we had ModMed come into our locations for intensive on-site training.
