As practice administrator at Laser Vision Correction Center of NJ, it’s my job to shepherd the practice’s growth. I look for opportunities to increase revenue by building efficiency, saving money and increasing performance in ways that don’t risk provider burnout or patient attrition.

More efficient coding is directly tied to faster charting, which is a major benefit for us. Providers use EMA on a tablet to capture patient information with specialty-specific protocols and adaptive tools. The system presents a clear view of patient history, generates suggested billing codes based on the provider’s documentation, and lets our providers focus more on the patient. Our providers can now finish their work at the end of the day, instead of taking it home on evenings or weekends, which has improved their work-life balance.

With this information connected across our practice, we’ve gained greater efficiencies. We send digital prescriptions and have proof of delivery, saving us the time and energy spent on manual efforts. We find it easier to manage referrals to other providers, especially for our patients who need surgery. Reporting is clear and insightful, allowing us to customize how we review data.

Klara helps patients and providers have more control

Provider satisfaction is important at Laser Vision Correction Center of NJ. We’ve experienced hiring stresses as the available pool of healthcare workers shrinks compared to demand. One of my priorities is using technology to limit provider turnover.

Improved schedule compliance can help patients address health matters more effectively while avoiding the health impacts or inconveniences of making up for missed appointments. If a patient loses a prescription, we can just send it through Klara, so we have proof of delivery and can save the time and energy spent on manual efforts.

With ModMed and Klara, I’m proud of how we’ve been able to scale and grow through efficiency rather than adding workload. The combination of enhanced coding processes, streamlined workflows and easier patient communication has helped us achieve our goals. Our providers are more confident and balanced in their work, our patients are more engaged in their care, and our practice operates with the kind of efficiency that supports sustainable growth.
