Documenting a Cystoscopy and Using Protocols
Watch as we document a cystoscopy and see how our urology EHR speeds up the process with protocols.
Here is a full transcript of the video:
In this visit, we are documenting a cystoscopy. We're going to go in, describe what we did, and all of these things that are normally algorithmic for us and repetitive, they're all pre-populated. The scope size, for example, there are a host of things to choose from, but the system will remember what it is that you do for these procedures and populate that for you so you don't have to take that time and reproduce it each visit. You'll see that we also use the diagram to be able to show findings, normal findings, abnormal findings. In this case, the patient has a five-millimeter papillary tumor located on that left side of the bladder. You'll see that with just those clicks. I've created a procedure note. I've shown where those lesions are located, and all of that documentation is done at the same time, along with the encounter form, which is now populated for me with the appropriate codes, again done in the background so that you can spend more time with the patient. This is another instance where protocols can be used. So, procedures like this, like vasectomies, things that prostate biopsies, things that you do commonly, you can simply create a protocol and in one touch accomplish the exact same thing. If there is anything abnormal or any findings, you can easily just override that with a few easy touches.
