I’m Doctor John Thompson and I am a practicing retina specialist. I’m previously president of The American Society of Retinal Specialists, and I’m also a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology. I also used to program many many years ago in a program the first EHR that I used. Well when I decided that I needed to switch to a more updated EHR system I did the usual vendor walk at the American Academy of Ophthalmology. I asked friends around and one of the programs that came up on our radar screen was Modernizing Medicine and so I looked in more detail with that as well as another EHR system. And once I got more details I felt that Modernizing Medicine really was going to satisfy our needs. The thing that really encourages me is that Modernizing Medicine is improving their ophthalmology EHR rapidly. Much more rapidly than other ophthalmology EHR programs which are more stagnant and are primarily updating things that are required for compliance purposes. They’re obviously putting a lot of effort into ophthalmology.
