EMA Orthopedics™ EMR – Welcome to the Team

The Windy City must give out good vibes: the last time I was here, EMA Orthopedics EMR joined forces with Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino to debut our orthopedics EMR solution at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual meeting in March. Now, we’re back in Chicago for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) Annual Meeting talking with orthopedic surgeons about EMA Orthopedics’ benefit to every provider as a specialty-specific EMR system: It’s Fast. Easy. Smart.

Since returning from AAOS, the team and I have been working on getting EMA Orthopedics ready. Days, nights, hours of effort, team collaboration have led us to the moment of truth: this week we are presenting EMA at the AOSSM Annual meeting. What emotion isn’t running through me? Or is that exhaustion?

Honestly, coding EMA with all the orthopedic knowledge has been laborious. At times, I have felt like I was reviewing for the national Orthopaedics Board exam again….but it’s been worth it – to see the correct knowledge in our orthopedic software joined with the visualization of the EMA 3D Interactive Anatomical Atlas™, then to see our beta testers using it…well, that’s been the true reward.

It’s the finer details that have also made me proud of EMA. Most recently, I incorporated a home exercise program handout by body region and diagnosis into EMA. These exercise programs are customizable based on doctor preference and patient ability. I really thrive on the challenges of making the usage in EMA work seamlessly with daily clinic flows. Plus, I look forward to hearing feedback from orthopedic surgeons using EMA’s feature that incorporates medical necessity requirements into a very user-friendly format. This will greatly benefit those orthopaedists who are performing total hip and total knee replacements.

As I look around me today on the exhibit floor, it’s apparent (more than ever) that Modernizing Medicine is a game changer!

Stay tuned… The team and I are working on details for the next set of goodness for EMA Orthopedics…
