Update: ModMed® MIPS Qualified Registry Status Reinstated & Termination Rescinded

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has confirmed ModMed’s status as a Qualified Registry for the 2026 performance year. As previously communicated, clients can continue to document, track, and directly submit 2026 MIPS Quality data through the ModMed Registry for the performance year ending December 31, 2026.

In addition, CMS recently rescinded its termination of the ModMed Registry, and we expect the Qualified Registry Qualified Postings to be updated soon to reflect this. As a result of this decision by CMS, ModMed has submitted its self-nomination for the 2027 performance period. Qualified registry nominations undergo a standard annual review, with final registry postings published by CMS toward the end of the year.

This update clarifies our previous guidance regarding MIPS Quality category reporting. Clients can continue to document, track, and directly submit 2026 MIPS Quality data through the ModMed Registry for the performance year ending December 31, 2026. Additionally, we will notify clients once our 2027 registry status is confirmed.

This update has no impact on ModMed’s Certified Electronic Health Record Technology (CEHRT) status or ONC EHR certification. Customers can continue using EMA to document and track the “Promoting Interoperability” and “Improvement Activity” categories without interruption and submit those categories directly through the Quality Payment Program (QPP) website. Customers who subscribe to ModMed’s MIPS Advising Service, as well as those utilizing our built-in MIPS Dashboards and analytics tools, will continue to receive full support without disruption.
