Modernizing Medicine to Showcase Advanced Solutions for MIPS and Value-Based Care at Prestigious Orthopedic Event

Boca Raton, Fla. – March 15, 2017 – Specialty-specific health information technology leader, Modernizing Medicine, Inc., will present the latest enhancements made to its electronic health record (EHR) system, EMA™, at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Meeting from March 15-17, in San Diego. Event attendees can demo the company’s pledge-backed Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) reporting and advanced analytics tools, plus its suite of products and services including Practice Management and Revenue Cycle Management.

With industry-leading MIPS intelligence, including composite score reporting, analytics and benchmarking, Modernizing Medicine’s EHR system can calculate how providers perform in 2017 with a single MIPS composite score that factors in three weighted performance categories: Quality, Advancing Care Information and Clinical Improvement. Additionally, Resource Use is expected to be available in 2018. The overall score then indicates performance as measured and compared to peers across a number of different criteria.

“EMA’s MIPS automation keeps us on track because all of the data is accessible and we can view our score along the way,” shares client Jordan Estus, Director of Clinical Operations at Lemak Sports Medicine & Orthopedics. “Also, we enrolled in Modernizing Medicine’s MIPS Advisory program, which provides us with assistance in ensuring we do not receive a negative Medicare payment adjustment or our money back. Our advisor is so knowledgeable and thorough in explaining what we need to do. Now, I feel confident and prepared for MIPS thanks to Modernizing Medicine and the amazing team.”

At AAOS, Modernizing Medicine will showcase the mobile, touch and cloud-based ModMed Orthopedics suite of products, including EMA, Practice Management, Revenue Cycle Management and Analytics, as well as the Clinical Performance Activities Module, which provides metrics dashboards to further help physicians track and improve the quantity and quality of referrals and find revenue gaps.

“Modernizing Medicine has always been laser focused on reducing documentation burden and creating solutions to save orthopedic surgeons time,’ said Dr. Jason Weisstein, Medical Director of Orthopedics at Modernizing Medicine. “The full data-driven suite can help improve the clinical, financial and operational aspects of practices, and we’re looking forward to showing orthopedic surgeons how easy the shift to value-based care and MIPS can be.”

Attendees at AAOS can learn more about ModMed Orthopedics at Modernizing Medicine booth #433, where representatives will answer questions and provide demonstrations during exhibit hours. For more information about the event, please visit the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) here.
