Modernizing Medicine® and gMed® to Showcase Next-Generation EHR, Revenue Cycle Management and Practice Management Solutions at HIMSS 2016

Modernizing Medicine showcases latest developments in specialty-specific health IT solution suite, including tools for ambulatory surgery centers

Boca Raton, Fla. – February 29, 2016 – Modernizing Medicine, Inc., the creator of the Electronic Medical Assistant® (EMA™), a cloud-based, specialty-specific electronic health record (EHR) system, will showcase its latest suite of specialty-specific products at the 2016 HIMSS Annual Conference in Las Vegas. Modernizing Medicine has significantly expanded its offerings over the past year, through both organic innovation and the acquisition of leading gastroenterology and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) solutions provider gMed. This year’s HIMSS conference will be the first time the company will showcase its new and expanded suite, including solutions designed specifically for ASCs.

Building on the early success of its flagship EHR solution, EMA, Modernizing Medicine’s new expanded suite of products and services now includes:

  • EMA™ EHR – EMA is a specialty-specific EHR system designed by physicians for physicians to support streamlined workflows, improved care and quality reporting.
  • Practice Management – Modernizing Medicine’s Practice Management system is an all-in-one practice management solution for improved patient and office flows for the front desk, patient billing, practice administrators and medical staff. It is fully integrated with EMA, providing seamless clinical, financial and operational workflows.
  • Revenue Cycle Management – With a focus on the business side of a physician practice, the revenue cycle management (RCM) service is built on the combined strength of people, processes and technology.
  • ModMed Telehealth™ – Modernizing Medicine first created a telehealth solution for dermatology, expanding access for the patients of a practice and creating a new revenue stream for the providers. Physicians can provide remote quality care while reserving office time to focus on more complex patient cases.

“We are looking forward to this year’s conference and showcasing the excellent work the team has put into making Modernizing Medicine a leader in EHR solutions,” said Daniel Cane, CEO and co-founder of Modernizing Medicine. “Our growth from offering a single product to the suite of solutions now available to specialty physicians proves that we are in-tune with our customers’ demands. We continue to work closely with our customers to create a more efficient healthcare process – from the front desk, to the waiting room and all the way through billing.”

In addition, Modernizing Medicine will be side-by-side with gMed, developer of the gGastro EHR system, endoscopy report writer (ERW) and the fully integrated gPM practice management system. gMed will showcase its gastroenterology-specific software and financial solutions, specially designed to optimize the gastroenterology workflow, reflecting unique practice processes. The gGastro suite securely integrates the office and endocenter to simplify the sharing of data among providers, patients and partners, and maximizes connectivity and productivity for each practice and ASC.

“This year’s show is a perfect place to showcase our solutions that help physicians comply with the ever-changing healthcare environment,” said Michael Sherling, MD, MBA, Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of Modernizing Medicine. “Being chosen to be a preferred partner by Olympus® for the EndoWorks® transition is a strong endorsement that our solution will allow physicians to embrace the shift towards alternative, quality-based payment models without disrupting existing workflows.”

Modernizing Medicine also recently announced that the company has joined CommonWell Health Alliance as a Contributor member. CommonWell is a not-for-profit trade association dedicated to cross-vendor interoperability that assures provider access to health data regardless of where care occurs. As the nation’s leading developer of specialty-specific, data-driven and cloud-based EHR, practice management and RCM systems, Modernizing Medicine is in a unique position to positively contribute to data sharing thereby improving patient outcomes, both at an individual patient level and larger population health level.
