Modernizing Medicine appoints new CFO

BOYNTON BEACH, FL – May 3, 2011— Modernizing Medicine, Inc., a Boynton Beach electronic medical records company, announced today the appointment of Karen O’Byrne, as its Chief Financial Officer.

Dan Cane, CEO of Modernizing Medicine, said, “We are extremely pleased to have Karen join our executive team. In less than a year we have raised $7 million of investment capital, and signed on more than 300 medical practitioners to our EMA solution. Modernizing Medicine’s growth requires a high level of financial expertise. Karen brings more than 20 years of experience and knowledge of small, high growth company operations, and we know she will be a very valuable addition to our team.”

Most recently, Ms. O’Byrne was Chief Financial Officer and a Principal of Blue Ocean Ventures, a Boca Raton, FL, Management Company for a group of investment operations. Before that, she was Chief Financial Officer for Campus Management Corp., an ERP Software Company that provides administrative and academic solutions for post-secondary educational institutions. Previous to that, she was a senior financial officer for Verio, the web hosting division of NTT Communications, and for several public accounting firms. She is a CPA, holds an MBA with honors from the University of Florida, and is a member of the AICPA and FICPA.
