Modernizing Medicine Drives MIPS Performance with the ModMed Pledge™

Company offers to help clients avoid negative adjustments under MIPS, highlights proven performance of Meaningful Use and Physician Quality Reporting System track records

Boca Raton, Fla. – December 12, 2016 Specialty-specific health information technology company Modernizing Medicine, Inc. today announced the ModMed Pledge to support its clients with the upcoming transition to the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and value-based healthcare. Modernizing Medicine’s confidence is due to the company’s successful track record for Meaningful Use (MU) attestation and Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) – measures that collectively make up 85% of the 2017 MIPS composite score as defined by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Beginning in January of 2017, physicians’ performance will be measured and compared against their peers across a number of different criteria. Providers that exceed the minimum threshold in 2017 can be paid more money versus those that don’t. Providers that do not meet the minimum threshold can receive a substantial reduction in Medicare payments.

Modernizing Medicine provides numerous advantages to address MIPS, including:

  • Products and solutions that automate the composite score elements used to calculate and monitor the MIPS score
  • Award-winning, 2014 ONC Certified EHR, EMA™, and Analytics solution that show how providers compare to their peers
  • Real-time, built-in and actionable analytics features measure performance to enable providers to make adjustments to meet the minimum threshold and stay competitive with peers
  • Proven track record of successful performance of thousands of specialty-specific Meaningful Use attestations and PQRS submissions

“As a practicing physician, I am fully aware of the skepticism and anticipation around the MIPS transition. That is why I, alongside my co-founder Dan Cane and the rest of the team at Modernizing Medicine, have dedicated the last six years to identifying and creating a data-driven, automated EHR system that can facilitate value-based healthcare,” said Dr. Michael Sherling, chief medical officer and co-founder of Modernizing Medicine.

Clients can choose from two levels of support including MIPS Assistance and MIPS Premium Advising. MIPS Assistance includes a MIPS preparation and planning session, monitoring of participating providers’ MIPS reports, a monthly progress report and remote submission assistance. If a provider participates in the MIPS Assistance program during 2017 and receive a 2019 negative payment adjustment, the provider’s fee for MIPS Assistance is credited.* MIPS Premium Advising includes the benefits of MIPS Assistance plus a dedicated MIPS Advisor, four one-hour MIPS report review sessions per practice, unlimited MIPS email support with the MIPS Advisor and a submission checklist. If a participating provider scores less than the minimum threshold of 70 on its 2017 composite MIPS score, then the provider’s fee for MIPS Premium Advising will be credited back to the client.*

“Our multi-physician practice met all the measures for PQRS with the help of Modernizing Medicine and our PQRS advisor. Having an advisor available to answer all of my questions and also explain in detail what everything meant, including CMS updates, was a lifesaver. I easily explained to our medical assistants the requirements needed thanks to the knowledge that I learned from the webinars, presentations, monthly updates and guidance provided,” shared Tim J. Marchetti, Office Manager, Saperstein M.D., Inc.
