EMA Dermatology from Modernizing Medicine Ranked #1 on Black Book Market Research List for Top EHR Vendors Again in 2015

Black_Book_Rankings_Seal_2015_smaller Boca Raton, Florida – March 6, 2015 – Modernizing Medicine, Inc., creator of the Electronic Medical Assistant® (EMA™), announced that EMA Dermatology™ earned the #1 spot on the Black Book Market Research Top EHR list in the Dermatology space. This is the second year in a row that EMA Dermatology has ranked #1 in this category.

Black Book Rankings conducted a wide-ranging six-month user poll to determine the highest ranked electronic health record (EHR) software systems for 2015. As part of a special research focus on implemented EHR users, Black Book revealed industry trends and announced those vendors with the highest scores in client experience among dermatology specialists. Modernizing Medicine’s EMA Dermatology was the first out of 150 EHR vendors to be selected as the preferred vendor in the dermatology space.

“For EMA Dermatology to be ranked #1 for the second year in a row in the eyes of practicing dermatologists is an overwhelming accomplishment,” said Daniel Cane, CEO and co-founder of Modernizing Medicine. “The team at Modernizing Medicine has spent the past five years dedicating its time and effort to creating an EHR platform that dermatologists can use to improve their practice and this ranking further validates the success of our work.”

EMA Dermatology was developed by dermatologists for dermatologists so it knows the specialty’s workflow. The intelligent platform learns each physician’s unique style of practice from his/her preferred anesthetic to acne treatments. EMA’s Virtual Exam Room™ collects structured patient data in real time, which is used to scribe notes and automate path labs, prescriptions, patient education and coding in just seconds. This information is then used to automatically generate Meaningful Use and PQRS reports, enabling physicians to improve efficiencies. With the industry’s movement towards pay for performance, EMA Dermatology is uniquely positioned to support quality of care reporting and outcome-based reimbursement.

“Dermatology is an inherently visual field that requires tools to pinpoint exactly where on the skin the patient is being consulted on,” said Dr. Michael Sherling, chief medical officer and co-founder of Modernizing Medicine. “EMA Dermatology provides dermatologists the tools and resources to identify, diagnose and treat patients accurately and efficiently. Being ranked as the top EHR in the space is an incredible accomplishment.”

Black Book Rankings surveyed thousands of healthcare records professionals, physician practice administrators, and hospital leaders in the information technology arenas to provide EHR users, media, investors, quality minded vendors, and prospective buyers of EHR software with a comprehensive comparison of the industry’s top respected and performing vendors.

Attendees of the upcoming American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting in San Francisco can receive a demonstration of EMA Dermatology by vising booth 5216 from March 21-23 during exhibit hours. Additional details about the Black Book study are available here.
