Modernizing Medicine Announces Inaugural EMA Nation Users Conference

Event to include viewing of cognitive learning app schEMA powered by IBM Watson; general session to open with physician entertainer ZDoggMD as keynote

Boca Raton, FL – September 3, 2014 – Modernizing Medicine, Inc., creator of the Electronic Medical Assistant® (EMA™), announces its inaugural EMA Nation Users Conference. The conference will provide a venue for users of this specialty-specific electronic health record (EHR) system to network and learn how to use EMA’s expanding capabilities for improving provider workflows and patient outcomes, and to address compliance mandates such as Meaningful Use and Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS). Dr. Zubin Damania, more popularly known as the inspiring and energizing thought leader, speaker and entertainer ZDoggMD, will provide the keynote for the event, which will be held on November 7 – 9, 2014, at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek in Orlando, FL.

“Specialty healthcare providers are realizing the benefits of EMA’s innovative approach, and this event will provide the perfect venue for further learning and collaboration to derive even greater value from EMA,” said Daniel Cane, CEO and co-founder of Modernizing Medicine. “EMA Nation will offer an environment to build and foster lasting relationships with hundreds of EMA users and product experts while providing deep, meaningful education to attendees and invaluable feedback for our team. And having international icon ZDoggMD speak at the conference is a real treat. We think our users will really enjoy hearing his engaging and humorous observations about medicine and healthcare.”

The event will feature a number of educational sessions throughout the conference, during which peers can engage with EMA product managers and company leaders to learn and share EHR system best practices, plus provide product feedback for future enhancements. EMA Nation will also showcase Modernizing Medicine’s cognitive learning application schEMA powered by IBM Watson, and attendees will learn how they can leverage EMA better to streamline physician workflows, improve patient outcomes and further strengthen their organizations. John Lynn, founder of HealthcareScene.com Health IT Blog Network, will speak about the Future State and Importance of EMR Technology. ADP AdvancedMD and Kareo are platinum sponsors for EMA Nation, which is open to all EMA users, including doctors, medical assistants, physicians assistants, administrative staff and IT personnel, across supported specialties of dermatology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, plastic and cosmetic surgery and otolaryngology.

EMA users are eagerly anticipating the event. Dr. Angela Peterman of Anne Arundel Dermatology is “most interested in learning new tips and pearls about how to use EMA most efficiently” for her large practice and becoming a “super savvy iPad user.” Alta View Eye Care Center’s Dr. Matthew Tempest shares: “At a recent conference that I attended, the presenter asked the question, ‘How many people are satisfied with their EMR?’ I was the only one who raised my hand. I’m looking forward to meeting other EMA users at EMA Nation and discussing how we all use EMA in our practices.”

Modernizing Medicine will also offer pre-conference workshops on November 6-7 for newer EMA users. Novice users can meet with skilled EMA trainers in person, who will provide hands-on training and answer questions. Additionally, on Saturday evening, November 8, Modernizing Medicine will host a client appreciation reception featuring the popular band, Party Crashers.

Nearly 30,000 physicians and health providers across the nation use EMA daily. Modernizing Medicine’s data-driven, specialty-specific EHR system can help physicians in specialties achieve better treatment outcomes and better business results for their practices.
