Feature-rich, tablet-based content, plus excellent imaging tools and good support
Boca Raton, Fla. – April 26, 2016 – Modernizing Medicine, Inc., the creator of the Electronic Medical Assistant® (EMA™), a cloud-based, specialty-specific electronic health record (EHR) system, announced today that EMA Dermatology® has been rated the top EHR system for dermatologists in the inaugural KLAS® “Ambulatory Specialty 2016 One Size Does Not Fit All Performance Report.”
KLAS, best known for its “Best in KLAS: Software and Services” report, has recognized that one size does not fit all and for the first time published research naming the top-performing companies within individual specialties based on the feedback of their customers. After a lengthy qualitative research study, the results indicate that Modernizing Medicine’s specialty-specific EHR system sets the standard for the dermatology specialty with its “feature-rich, tablet-based content” highlighted along with “excellent imaging tools” and “good support.” The report additionally states, “Modernizing Medicine is praised for strong mobile functionality and for providing the imaging-import options that are especially important to dermatologists.”
While Modernizing Medicine was only measured for dermatology in this first KLAS specialty report, the same technology platform lies at the heart of its ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, pain management, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, urology, rheumatology and gastroenterology EHR systems. The fact that the company employs working physicians in these specialties also supports the rapid adoption of the software.
“The Modernizing Medicine team is thrilled that our unique business model of employing physicians to actually develop the EHR system that they need is recognized for its success,” said Daniel Cane, CEO and co-founder of Modernizing Medicine. “Plus, knowing that our customers provided the testimony highlights the fact that what we’re creating is the best in the industry.”
“Our software is built by physicians, for physicians, and we appreciate our client’s feedback that it’s so useful for the specialty’s workflow,” shares Dr. Michael Sherling, Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of Modernizing Medicine. “Our team diligently builds solutions to address the industry challenges facing physicians today to make them more successful in the future.”
This recognition of Modernizing Medicine’s efforts comes as the company continues to expand its high-value solutions through both organic innovation and acquisition. The company recently announced that it has built practice management and revenue cycle management (RCM) systems for all specialties it supports; plus ModMed Telehealth™ creates an additional revenue stream for dermatologists, while providing convenience for both physician and patient. In addition, the leading gastroenterology and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) solutions provider, gMed, joined the Modernizing Medicine portfolio in 2015.
