It’s Not Too Late to Attest for MU for 2014
Have you heard about this? It’s big MU news.
You need to demonstrate meaningful use for only three months of the year, and providers attesting Meaningful Use Stage 1 can select ANY 90-day reporting period in 2014 and receive the incentive payment. This means that if you act quickly, you could be up and running by October 1, 2014 on the Electronic Medical Assistant® (EMA™) as your electronic medical record (EMR) system and still attest for 2014!
That’s right. Not only can you move to the cloud-based, specialty-specific EMR conceived, developed and coded by doctors as a native iPad application, but also you could still attest for Meaningful Use Stage 1 or Stage 2 for this year. Select our automated Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) service too, and you could knock out your future PQRS compliance woes along with MU.

Here’s the word from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on eligible professionals’ special reporting periods for submitting meaningful use measures in 2014 for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs.
- You need to demonstrate meaningful use for only a three-month, or 90-day, reporting period, regardless if you are demonstrating Stage 1 or Stage 2 of MU.
- Choose your reporting period based on your program and participation year:
- Medicare beyond first year of meaningful use: Select a three-month reporting period fixed to a quarter of the calendar year.
- Medicare in first year of meaningful use: Select ANY 90-day reporting period.
And please note: there is still a penalty for missing the CMS penalty-free deadline of October 1 to attest; you needed to have begun your reporting period by July 1 to avoid that. However, the great news is that you could still receive the MU incentive for 2014!
Complete the form now and we’ll explain more so you can get live on EMA in order to attest for this year.
